State Grid Accelerates Construction of First Intelligent Substations

On October 28, the State Grid Corporation of China organized a coordination meeting for the “four guarantees and one effort” construction of intelligent substations in Wuxi. Researcher Sun Zhusen of State Grid Corporation, Director Zhang Qiang of Infrastructure Department, Director Bao Yuchuan of Smart Grid Division, Deputy General Manager Meng Qingqiang of Jiangsu Electric Power Company, Assistant to General Manager Xiao Xiangdong, Director of Infrastructure Department, and Jiangsu, Hunan, Shandong, Sichuan, Shaanxi, etc. State Grid's intelligent substation pilot construction unit participated in the meeting.

The leaders of the State Grid Corporation of Communications attended the report on the construction of the pilot projects of 5 intelligent substations such as the 220-kilovolt transformer system, and focused on understanding the progress of the integration debugging of intelligent equipment components. After that, they emphasized: the construction of intelligent substation projects. It is a new attempt and exploration for electric power construction in the field of intelligence, which is of great significance for building a unified and strong smart grid. In the previous stage, through the active efforts of various construction units of the project, the pilot projects have been smoothly promoted and the results have been remarkable. In particular, the 220-kilovolt Xiqiao substation project has overcome the difficulties of tight schedules, heavy tasks, and involving new technologies and new equipment. Careful planning, careful coordination, and steady progress have laid a solid foundation for the completion of the year. At the same time, it is hoped that each participating unit will make persistent efforts in the follow-up construction promotion work, further strengthen communication and coordination, accelerate the construction progress of the first batch of intelligent substations of State Grid Corporation of China, and ensure that the pilot projects of State Grid’s intelligent substations are completed and put into operation as scheduled.
