Deloitte, one of the world's top four accounting firms, has acquired Well Placed Cactus (WPC), a virtual reality and augmented reality vendor, to further strengthen their digital technologies.
Founded in 2012, WPC's engineers are mainly based in Melbourne and Brisbane, and they mainly use technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality to make games and interactive experiences. It is understood that WPC will become the new Digital Emerging Technology team of Deloitte Digital, and Steve Hallam, Deloitte Digital's chief partner, will lead the team.
Hallam said: “We believe that emerging technologies will have a profound impact on institutions and individuals. Bringing the engineering expertise of the WPC team to ours is a natural evolution of our end-to-end digital products. WPC’s deep technical understanding has led us to no longer restrict It's really exciting to think of great ideas, but to be able to create and implement them."

The projects WPC collaborated with Deloitte mainly include ANZ Virtual Garden in Sydney, a three-story interactive virtual garden.
