Comment: This is a world supported by Windows

Why does Windows support the operation of our world? In a commentary article on CS Babel, it was stated that Windows is dominant in the following industries: mining and metallurgy, electricity production, oil extraction, logistics and transportation, banking finance, retail catering, instrumentation, and production Management, health care, education, teaching, traffic management, entertainment media, waste management... These industries maintain our world, and Windows supports most of the software systems in these industries. Even the windows of the Apple Store had to use Windows for multimedia presentations.

There are always a lot of people who engage in IT (especially programmers) who want Microsoft to die immediately (usually fans of Linux and Mac). They have a variety of reasons, many of them are grand and very high-sounding. But I don't usually buy it because I believe in the beauty of diversity, and I'm a little bit more common sense than the radical programmers. We know that our current world is supported by Windows.

The following is a list of some common sense:

Mining and metallurgy is inseparable from Windows (including production management such as job surface planning analysis, drilling rig control, furnace management, and information systems);

Power production is inseparable from Windows (including production management, information systems, etc.)

Oil exploitation cannot be separated from Windows (including well production management, oil exploration, wellbore planning and analysis, etc.)

Logistics transportation is inseparable from Windows (including management terminal, container loading planning, communication scheduling, etc.)

Banking finance is inseparable from Windows (including ATM machines, counter terminals, trading terminals, etc.)

Retail catering cannot be separated from Windows (including billing system, warehouse/seat management, etc.)

Instrumentation, can not be separated from Windows (including high-end equipment itself, the instrument design and manufacturing process, etc.);

Production management is inseparable from Windows (including various ERP systems, accounting systems, workshop management terminals, etc.);

Health care is inseparable from Windows (including various instruments, instrument design and manufacturing processes, HIS systems, etc.)

Education and teaching cannot be separated from Windows (Is this still an example?);

Traffic management is inseparable from Windows (traffic monitoring, airport/railway flow planning control, rescue system, etc.);

Entertainment media can not be separated from Windows (tailor editing, post-production, advertising design, production, etc.);

Waste management is inseparable from Windows. (Well, in fact, it is in China.)

... This list can also be listed long. Just think, if you do not have Windows, how can these industries work?

(I know that some people will be unconvinced. They will think that such "high-end" applications will certainly not use Windows.... There are already many kinds of information in the industry at the end of the Internet. Everyone can go completely. Searching and seeing what operating systems I have listed above are the main ones. Of course, I can also give a list of some software, screenshots, etc., but I don't plan to do so at this time.)

Well, add one more: The high-tech system of the Chinese military cannot be separated from Windows...

In these areas, Linux may be able to replace Windows, but for so many years, Linux has only developed well on the server side, because the operation and maintenance personnel can turn to Linux, but ordinary users can not (I will not discuss here, only to say Example: Some organizations use Linux in order to save money, but eventually found that the overall cost is too high to be as good as buying Windows, so they switched back to Windows).

Mac OS cannot replace Windows. The reason why I dare to say this is because it is not open. There may be some people who are sniffing at this, but the meaning of the word "open" is far more meaningful than some people who love extremes can understand. Or give a few examples. For example, you can't make an oscilloscope, and then put Mac OS into it. (It doesn't work if you put in a complete Mac machine.) You can't make an ATM machine and install Mac OS. A complete Mac machine is also an undesirable solution; you can't make a big billboard and then install Mac OS (in this scenario, theoretically, you can embed a complete Mac machine inside, but the cost will increase a lot.) , mechanical design and cooling solutions also need additional changes - so the display system used in Apple's shop window is generally based on Windows...

With so many existing systems, the investment in Windows should be an astronomical number. So the most reasonable choice at the moment is to allow it to continue and support our world to continue to operate.

What about the future? The near future seems to be quite certain. In the long-term future, can anyone be able to speak clearly? Think about what computers were like 30 years ago...

Added: It was mentioned that Mac is growing and Win is losing power. In fact, the global statistics are like this. In 2010, global PC shipments were 368 MM, of which Mac accounted for 4 MM, which is 1.08%, so the Mac still has a long way to go.

Addition: Chinese people generally seem to like to see the author also form a statement, in order to divide the position? Actually, I am annoying Windows now (in many ways, not listed one by one), but I think personal preferences should not affect the perception of things - not because I do not like it, just say it is going to end (even As some people say it is finished).
