Overview

The AD8132 is a low cost, differential or single-ended input to differential output amplifier that sets the gain through a resistor. Compared to op amps, the AD8132 has made significant advances in driving differential input ADCs or driving signal long line transmissions. It has a unique internal feedback feature that provides an output gain and phase matching balance of ? 68 dB at 10 MHz, which suppresses harmonics and reduces radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI).

The AD8132 is fabricated on Analog Devices' next-generation XFCB bipolar process with a -3 dB bandwidth of 350 MHz and provides differential signaling with a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of ~99 dBc at 5 MHz and low cost. The device eliminates the need for a transformer with a high performance ADC and retains low frequency and DC information. Applying a voltage across the VOCM pin adjusts the common-mode level of the differential output, making it easy to level-shift the input signal driving a single-supply ADC. Fast overload recovery ensures sampling accuracy.
